PRECIOUS
THOUGHT: PRAISE-OUR DELIVERANCE!
But
I am poor and needy; yet the LORD thinketh upon me: Thou
art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
Psalm 40:17
But
I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: Thou art
my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying. Psalm
70:5
I
do not profess to be any type of biblical scholar or theology
major, but in reading many of the Psalms that David wrote,
I see a direct 'cause & effect' relationship between praise
and deliverance.
When
I read Psalm 40:17 and Psalm 70:5, I see how they are almost
identical. And though the time is not the same, the circumstances
may vary and the place is different, one thing that has
not changed is David's steadfast trust in the Lord as his
Deliverer. Psalm 70 is noted for remembrance. When we bless
the Lord and forget not all of His benefits, we will continue
to trust Him and never consider trusting any other. We can
PRAISE God because problems denote inevitable DELIVERANCE-what
a precious thought!
I
trust in Jesus Christ alone,
My Rock and my Salvation;
I know He will deliver me
In every situation.
I
know He will deliver me,
I know He cannot fail;
I know I do not trust in vain
Though Satan's hosts assail.
I
know He does deliver me,
And I can trust Him wholly.
I know He's all the help I need,
And I'll trust Jesus solely.
I
know He will deliver
When I wouldn't stand a chance;
My Jesus will come through for me
With strong deliverance.
Blessed
be the LORD my Strength, which teacheth my hands to war,
and my fingers to fight: My Goodness, and my Fortress; my
High Tower, and my Deliverer, my Shield, and He in whom
I trust; who subdueth my people under me. Psalm 144:1&2
2
Samuel 22:
1 - And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song
in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand
of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
2 - And he said, The LORD is my Rock, and my Fortress, and
my Deliverer;
3 - The God of my rock; in Him will I trust: He is my Shield,
and the Horn of my salvation, my High Tower, and my Refuge,
my Saviour; Thou savest me from violence.
4 - I will call on the LORD, Who is worthy to be praised:
so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Psalm
18:
1 - I will love Thee, O LORD, my strength.
2 - The LORD is my Rock, and my Fortress, and my Deliverer;
my God, my Strength, in whom I will trust; my Buckler, and
the Horn of my Salvation.
3 - I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised:
so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
